Quarantine Day 14: What We're Doing to Stay Positive

Hey there! How are you holding up in quarantine? We’re doing ok over here, just trying to stay positive and do our part by staying home and only going out for groceries and gas. I know this world is full of unknowns right now, but I am feeling so hopeful that after everything is behind us, we will come out of this stronger and more unified.

During our first week of quarantine, I wrote some things down that I wanted to accomplish and I’m happy to share them with you!

  1. Closet cleanout and organization- I have a corner of our garage ready to go to Goodwill. Decluttering just feels so liberating!

  2. Gardening- It was time to repot some of my plants, so Knox and I had fun being outside and getting our hands dirty.

  3. Journaling- Snag a copy of The Daily Stoic! I highly recommend.

  4. Try out some new vegan recipes. Even if its something simple, like a new smoothie recipe or gluten-free pancakes, it will be fun to try something different. My favorite recipe books are here.

  5. Take your workout outdoors. Walk the dog, do a HIIT routine outside, or go for a light jog. Breathing in the fresh air and clearing your mind will help you de-stress.

  6. Find a new show to watch! We’ve been watching Tiger King lately and its been quite a hit for us. My hubs just informed me that Ozark is back on tonight too! Yay!

  7. Have a spa day. Wrap your hair up in a mask, take an Epsom salt bath, and give yourself a pedicure. When was the last time you did that? ;)

  8. Learn a Tik-Tok dance. I promise you, it’s really fun!

  9. Facetime family or friends. We’ve been doing this a lot lately and it keeps us feeling connected to our loved ones.

  10. Read a new book or listen to an audiobook while you’re cleaning + organizing.

  11. Take a yoga class online. A lot of studios are going live on Instagram and offering free classes from the comfort of your home. Check out Black Swan Yoga for daily classes.

  12. Plan your next trip! It may seem silly, but the universe has a way of conspiring to give you what you ask for. Even if you think it’s not possible, do some daydreaming and make a Pinterest board of where you want to travel to next. Follow me on Pinterest for inspiration!

If you’re feeling down about all of this, please remember that tough times eventually pass and major challenges become our greatest teachers. Sending you all my most heartfelt thoughts and I hope you and yours are safe and healthy.
